Khortha speaking people are mainly found in the districts Hazaribagh, Koderma, Chatra, Ramgarh, Giridih, Bokaro,Dhanbad, Deoghar, Godda, Jamtara, Dumka, Pakur and Sahibganj.
Khortha language is spoken by more than 8 million people.
In this community people from all castes speak this language.
Khortha people make their living mainly by agriculture.Khortha language belongs to Indo-Aryan language family.
It is believed that mahagi is the mother language of Khortha.
But this language became a major language in Jharkhand and all kinds of people speak this language in their daily life and in their work places.The translation of the Bible into Khortha language has been done by a team of experts with the help of native Khortha speakers.
